Our Teaching Philosophy
At Kā’anapali Golf Courses, our golf professionals strive to make golf a fun and enjoyable experience for all levels of play. For new golfers, our instructors will begin with the basics and help to increase your comfort level of the game. For the more experienced golfer, our instructors will customize each lesson to meet your goals and capitalize on your strengths as well as help with course management.

Meet The Instructors
Jon Tempest, Teaching Professional
Jon Tempest, Kā‘anapali Teaching Professional, fell in love with golf at age 12 and quickly immersed himself in junior tournaments, practice, and study. He later attended Ferris State University and Coastal Carolina University in their Golf Management Programs. After years of playing and competing, he began coaching with First Tee – Hawaii on Maui. With over 30 years of experience, Jon is excited to offer quality instruction to players of all ages and abilities across West Maui and beyond. Aloha!
